Hi fellow distance learners!

I am wanting to get my FNP online - preferably completely online, but suppose I could spend a few nights on campus if the program is worth it. Because it is getting near June, I would prefer a school that does admissions more than once a year.

I have received information from U of Cincinnati - very promptly, but emailed them yesterday about an application and haven't heard anything from them yet. Weird that I can't find it online.

Also emailed Ball State - they are accepting apps for summer of 2012. Not sure I want to wait that long, but time flies when you are pushing 50 :) and no doubt next summer will be here before I know it.

Any other advice?

I also noticed that there is a BSN to DNP program at one University I was looking at yesterday and I suppose if I could get into that in the fall...

Not sure and want to get the most bang for my non-refundable admission buck.

If you find out let me know. I currently am looking into a few RN-MSN (ASN to MSN bridge programs) that are completley online (obviously I know I would have to do clinicals) it seems to me that since I want to get my NP I should just do an ASN-MSN bridge and get my BSN in there as well. I will keep my eye out for you as well.

Frontier Nursing University (formerly Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing) offers online MSN degrees in FNP (as well as CNM). They have direct master's programs, for people who have a BSN, and they also have an RN-MSN bridge program (requires 4 terms of bridge coursework before starting the master's coursework - does not award a BSN).

It requires 2 on-campus visits (3 if you're doing the bridge program) in Hyden Kentucky - one before you start the program, which lasts 4 days and is called Frontier Bound. Another on-campus visit takes place right before starting your clinicals, and that lasts 8 days and is called Clinical Bound (this is where you take place in lab simulations such as advanced assessments, suturing, etc.).

Clinicals are done in your own community, and they assist you with lining up preceptors.

St. Joseph's College of Maine has an online FNP program.

You might want to consider them.

I believe that they may have rolling admission.

Also, Oakland University also offers an online option.

Hi,

Have you looked at Concordia University Wisconsin. I just completed from there with not many issues. But, please be adviced you have to find your own clinical placement (Family practice/internal medicine only)
