Online MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I am currently a BSN student, about to graduate next month (yay!)

I did one of my last rotations with an APRN at a private practice, and I think I found my calling. So I've decided to start thinking about graduate school, specifically the MSN FNP track. There are no MSN programs in my area, only a DNP program. But I really want to do an MSN program for various reasons, time and cost mainly. So while I was doing some research I compiled a table of schools that offer an online MSN-FNP program, their costs, program lengths, clinical hours, etc. So I am sharing the info with all of you who are thinking about embarking on a similar journey. I hope it helps!

This table is by no means complete, as some sites were very difficult to navigate, and not all schools provide the same information. And there are probably at least 50 or more additional schools that offer this program. If a section is blank, it's because I could not find the information.

Any feedback or additional information on other schools is welcomed and appreciated!

Chamberlain College offers an online NP program.

Thank you so much for this!

i believe Indiana university has an all online program as well (no campus visits), but it is more credit hours and requires and upper level statistics course. :-(

i had read that in the past USI charged in-state tuition for msn students that live out-of-state. Does anyone have any recent info on this?

Are site visits the number of times you must be on campus? Vanderbilt's FNP program requires students to be on campus once a month for 4-5 days at a time. It equates to 10 campus visits. Also they require 630 clinical hours.
