Hi! I am a 16 year-old male and I want to be a nurse. I am going to get my ged and start college early. To me, I don't think anything could be more rewarding than working with children suffering from cancer. So, my question is, do you need any special certification beyond the BSN to work in pediatric oncology?

You can get an ADN and get started a few years earlier.

There is a pediatric oncology certification (CPON), but you don't HAVE to have it in order to practice. You would have to be working so many hours in the specialty before you could get it anyway. Good luck.
