I just started at a rehab/LTC in South Carolina, I'm from Colorado and we didn't have to take call where I was working. The facility here schedules you on call (Pretty much every day I have off) but I'm not just on call for my shift 7a-3p I'm on call for 24 hours.. they do not pay for you to be on call or pay extra if you are called in.. and it's a whole shift.. not just a few hours of coverage. Is that legal? I can't work 11p-7a how can they expect me to cover that shift if needed? Anyone ever heard of this?

Check with Wage and Labor board. However, It's a federal law that facilities can't place you on call without paying you. It's not much. Around $1-$3 per hour. Or $15-20 per shift Where I work we pay on call rate of $15. If we get called in, it's automatic time and half.
