is anyone from the south shore area of boston attending a college bridge program?
i have started taking my prerequistes and have two courses left{yahoo}
it is a long haul but..no matter how long it takes, i will complete this.
after being an lpn since 1979, i had the opportunities every rn had, but not now.
mostly the jobs are in nursing homes or home health care.
i would like more diversity in where i will work for the next 14 years.
anyone else from the south shore doing this as well?
i would love to hear from you.

I'm not from the South Shore, but I too am embarqing on the RN route, starting in 10 days! I am hoping to finish in 2 years, but with 3 kids, not sure how feasible that is. I'm going to carry a full course load this first semester & if it works out ok, I'll continue. Otherwise, I'll have to drop down to part-time classes.
In my area, the jobs for LPNs are limited to LTC, hospice or doctor offices. I hate being limited in what I can do.

I'm not there either but wanted to wish you well! I finished my RN in my 40s and plan to continue on for my Psychiatric NP even though I will probably be 100 years old, lol.
If all goes as I hope it does, I'll be 40 when I graduate with my ASN... then a few years experience and my hubby & I will hit the road traveling:yeah: When I'm too tired & burnt out to handle those 12-hour shifts, I think I want to get into teaching.. which will mean more schooling.. sigh! Anywho......
Good luck LPNMA & Jules!
