Oklahoma City University

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Published

Hello everyone~

I am interested in the ABSN program and I from South florida and have a 2.9 BS and 3.3 MBA. Do you think I can qualify for this program? Also I how is the program like? Is it worth going it?

How is living in OKC like? I have never been there and would like more information on it as well. If I were to move it would just be for me and my husband.

If someone can provide me with some guidance I would highly appreciate it.

Thanks so much in advance!

I have recently been accepted to the University of Oklahoma's ASBN program. I thought about applying for Oklahoma City University, but I hesitated because of the cost. I heard really good things about OCU and their nursing program. I had someone tell me that they usually do not get many applicants because of the cost, so people that apply usually get in. I say go for it. I have lived in Oklahoma my entire life so I love it, but I would assume it would be quite a change from Florida. The weather here is crazy, but once you get used to that it is cake. I hope this helps. :D

Thank you so much for replying to my post. Congrats on getting into your school of choice! :yeah: That is so awesome. I was checking out the University of OK and it looks really good. Have you started there program yet? Do you know how much will it cost for apartments like is it very pricey or more affordable?

For ex: here I am paying $1300.00 for 2/1 condo.

I am exploring different options re: relocating and schools. I was also looking at Texas, however have noticed that the schools there have a lot of pre-reqs requirements. Is OKC very quit? I lived in North Carolina for example and it was very quit but very beautiful a lot of new homes/apt.

Thanks much!! I wish you all the best with school/career:nurse:

The cost of living in OKC is very cheap. My friend and I rented a 1 bedroom apartment in an okay area of northwest OKC for $452 monthly up until March 2010. Prior to that, we were staying at a 2 bedroom apartment near Quail Springs Mall in North OKC for $604 per month.

Oklahoma has a very conservative culture, erratic weather, friendly people, and plenty of sprawl and open spaces near its major metro areas. Since I am originally from southern California, I could not get used to the snow and subfreezing temperatures during the winters in OKC. The summers are usually very hot with a mixture of dry heat and humidity.
