OCCC BADNAP 2018

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Is anyone applying to the OCCC BADNAP program for entrance January 2017? Also, is anyone currently in the 2017-2018 program that just started? What is it like?

I completed all my prerequisites and my GPA wasn't the highest (I can't remember what it was). I have a feeling the new entry date helped me out since not everyone knew about it or may have been ready when they posted it.

From the information meeting I went to in Sept it sounded like they put the applications in 2 stacks- all that have completed prerequisites then after those come the ones who still have prerequisites to go. She seemed to say that they always go to those who don't have all prerequisites completed. I'm not sure if that is right or not, but that is what I put together from what she said. (I deduced that from what she said- she didn't say that exactly so I could be completely off). My advisor also said they ALWAYS go to the waitlist.

I'm hoping they tell us at orientation how many applied- they should have those statistics as well as highest and lowest GPAs of those who were accepted available if you call up there next semester- my advisor told me that info from the 2015 class. (I doubt they have all it tabulated up right now.)

Very helpful!!! Thank you so much!

If anyone needs to get their BLS (CPR) class done, I'm an instructor and am holding a course this Saturday! Let me know if you are interested. I know we need to get it done soon!

Just curious. How does that work? Does the certification have to be done by the first day of class?

I think it needs to be done by the 15th but I'm not certain.

Anyone else getting anxious leading up to orientation? I have had such anxiety since finding out my acceptance, that it is causing me more stress! All you hear about are horror stories, but I know there has to be some people out there that have gotten it done!

I'm not too anxious. I just know it's gonna suck and be really hard for 10 months... but just remember it's only 10 months! Many have gone before us and completed the program and we can do the same! We've just gotta get in there and get through it! :)

I know it's late but does anyone know if orientation is over at 12:30 tomorrow? It says that on the letter but it also says that we have a "30 minute lunch on your own"- so I'm a little confused if we are going to be done at 12:30 or if they just forgot to put the ending time.

Let me know how it goes! And ask about numbers if you don't mind as far as how many applicants versus how many applied etc! Thanks

How'd it go? I'm curious as to the lowest gpa accepted. Mine actually dropped this semester although still above 2.5 í ½í¸³

Hi, I will be applying to the BADNAP that begins

Jan 2019. Congrats on getting in! Did they happen to tell you at Orientation what your Spring semester will be like? Days/hours in lectures and clinicals?

I'm trying to figure out if I will be able to work at all if I get accepted.

I'm not in the badnap but I've talked to several people. They say it's possible, but very hard to work. Lab is 2 days a week I think, lecture once, and clinical twice a week. I believe they are busy 5 days out of the week.
