About a month ago I was arrested for a DUI. Noone was hurt, thankfully. It's my only arrest, no priors. My lawyer said I will get a deferred sentence and it will be dismissed next year after I take some alcohol classes.

I already called the BON, they sent me a form to fill out and submit after the first court hearing. I'm still employed. My question is this: will I be forced into the PEER Assistance Program for the DUI? Some research has shown that some states like California are more strict than others. Some people I know have gotten a DUI in this state and had nothing done, others were sent to PEER. I'm just kind of confused. Anyone had any similar situation? How did it turn out

I would also get an attorney for your license. TAANA.org is a place to start.

Good luck!

It will vary pm, I had one 2 years ago bac was .13....... anything greater than. 16 most likely you'll end up some sort of probation also if there were any damages. Anything less than. 16 most likely cited and fine. Good luck just follow the instructions on how to turn in your documents and dont agree to stipulations yet it'll take a while for you to hear back from them
