I've read several posts here and I looked at the Millazzo web site. I'm skeptically interested...:chuckle
I've been a RN in OB for 10 years, but I live in a very rural area of Ohio. It is an hour to the closest city and even that city isn't a big one! Can a LNC be successful in such a rural area? Would I have to do a lot of travel?
Also, I've read over and over that "marketing is the key". So, do they teach you how to market yourself in these LNC courses? Because I wouldn't have the first idea!
One last question. How much money do LNCs REALLY earn? I think that's where my skeptisism comes in. Anytime you see an ad that says $100-$150/hr after a 6 day seminar...:icon_roll
I'd love to hear the real scoop from anyone who knows the ropes!
Thanks!

Hello, momma2boysaz and welcome to the Legal Nursing forum
One way to get some answers to your questions is to contact the Institute and speak to a representative.
Yes, the Vickie Milazzo program is excellent. Yes, you are taught marketing techniques in the 6 day course, but post course mentoring is available as well. In that course, it is possible to get the information initially, but as you pointed out, it would be necessary to seek post-course guidance to hone your marketing skills. Mentors are available to assist in this.
You are correct that marketing is the key to success. MANY come to this career for the wrong reason only to fall short of their goals; the biggest reason being, lack of drive/determination.
Seach yourself and find out exactly why you want to be a Legal Nurse Consultant. Place a call to the Milazzo Institute.
If you have other questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to post here and/or send me a private message.
To answer your question about "can I be successful in a rural area".....
Yes, you can, but it probably will be somewhat difficult to stay only in your area. I market outside my immediate area (nationwide). No, I do not have to travel constantly as consultant. Sometimes I do, but the majority of the time I do not. Most of my consulting business is out of state.
I just recieved info in the mail that I requested from the Vickie Milazzo place. It all looks good. Maybe too good.
I just can't shake my skepticism! Maybe because I don't know of anyone who actually does this for a living. That and the idea that such large incomes are typical, let alone possible!
I would love to hear some real, honest to goodness success stories from any of the nice folks around here!:wink2:
The info that I was reading from Vickie basically makes it sound like if you go to her seminar, you can come home, mail out some packets, make some phone calls, and if you know an attorney or two, you'll be raking in six figures in no time, while sitting at home in your robe eating bon-bons!:rotfl: OK, so I'm exaggerating a little...
Seriously, is this really a career that is potentially profitable for the typical RN?
Thanks for listening!

Hello, mommy2boysaz,
No, it is not that easy. VERY few individuals go home and become overnight successful LNCs.
Like I said above, marketing is the key - continuous marketing even when you have your business up and running and have a few clients. That is if you want to secure that large income.
"Potentially profitable for the typical RN"?.......well, I'm not sure what that means. But, if the RN is motivated to be self-sufficient, has an astute ability to glean reams of medical records and interpret the findings that result in a favorable outcome for the client, possesses the ability to market her/himself with undying devotion, then yes, it can and will be profitable.
(BTW - I answered your pm)
YOU are the ONLY one who can make this decision for yourself. Believe me, I questioned this as well years ago. I wish I had not waited so long to pursue the career.
Good luck.
