Hope it is a good semester! Does anyone know if we HAVE to purchase the custom nutrition package from OU? It is $197, but more importantly, it is out of stock right now. Thanks!

Sorry, I'm taking Nutrition at Cincinnati State on line. No expensive package, but an expensive book for sure.

Thanks for your reply. I purchased the book package from Cengage that the professor said is absolutely required. It was $150 with shipping. Steep for a prerequisite class, but oh well.

In other news, I just got an e-mail with the syllabus saying that this class has two PROCTORED exams in addition to all of the assignments/quizzes/etc. Is this new??

I am out of state so I will have to find a proctoring site on my own that Ohio will have to approve, assuming I can get the day off on the test dates. They sent a list of possible places like public or private universities or libraries and I guess I have to contact each one in my area until I find someone that is willing to proctor me and available during the specific dates listed. In addition to this, I remember other threads that said the study guides are what make passing the midterm and final possible, but the syllabus specifically states that we are not allowed reference anything at all- no notes, study guide, or even a piece of scratch paper or a calculator.

Has anyone taken nutrition like this at OU? This is stressing me out! Thank you.

I took the class a few summers back. It sounds like it has not changed. You have to have the book and you have to know the study guide well. No book. No notes. All memory:-). The test is computerized and timed so make sure you have computer availability. Your proctor will be given a code to put in to access the test. Pay careful attention to available test dates because once the test is closed that's it. Most of us had to get proctors because few of us live close enough to OU to drive there. Good luck!

Specializes in ICU,ER, Radiology, Online education.

Take it at Western Oklahoma University. No proctored tests and was an easy class. tuition was also less than $400

Thanks so much for the info and the alternative. I appreciate it!

Makes me glad I am taking it at Cincinnati State... So far has been really easy. Very doable with another course.

Diet-1200 is the course that equals OU's Nutrition 1000.

It's easy and pretty cheap.

Could you please message me, anyone. I'm in nutrition 1000 but confused on where this study guide is. I bought the Ebook. Also having a lot of problem getting my connect assignments.
