Anyone else taking Assessment for Fall third session?

Suggestions from anyone who has taken it already?

Specializes in ICU, step down, dialysis.
Did anyone notice that under assignments, the assignments are worth 25 points, 10 points and 12 points, but all say 5% of your final grade?

I don't know exactly who is to blame, but between the lousy instructions, the TA's not communicating proper explanations, and all the typos and such - this is the most unorganized, unprofessional, confusing class I have ever taken!

I hate to say this, but for me, this is the best class I've had since Fall Semester started lol. Yeah, it's not perfect, but after dealing with the mass confusion, the almost illiterate instructions on assignments, disorganization and wretched TAs of Research and Leadership earlier, this class has been somewhat of a relief for me.

I feel that the discussions are more work than previous classes I took. I thought these online course discussion boards werre to take the place of class participation in a regular classroom. I never raised my hand and referenced anything I said before in a regular classroom. Eh this weeks discussion seems very indeph this week. Lots of questions to answer... ugh week three!

The discussions are pretty involved. I'm thinking I may have covered more than I needed in my Assessment, I did head, breasts since that covered lymphatics in the chapter. I also did lungs and thorax, which I probably shouldn't have. The instructions were so unclear. Now watch me get marked down for doing something I didn't need, lol. I should have just stuck with the 2 chapters, but I was so unsure.

And I just checked, head and neck, chest and thorax are week 3 and 4. On the plus side I have them completed already. On the negative side I incorporated them into the summary, so I won't be surprised if I lose a point. But being that one part said 12-20, I didn't want to not include them and then get marked down. Crap.

Wow.......... the other's must have been really, really, bad!

I agree. This course is the worst (I usually try not to complain). Theinstructions for "PURPOSE, GOALS, and LEARNING OBJECTIVES" is notmeaningful at all. What do we suppose to write? How much should we write? .....So frustrated! Any comments and suggestions are truly appreciated.

Yes, I just took a look at this new Purpose, Goals, and Learning Objectives paper. It is NOT specific again. Very vague. So frustrating.

I am already nervous about my "assessment" submitted week 2. I don't want my GPA to suffer because of bad instructions.

Thanks Didi...I thought Evidence based nursing was horrible and I was in Leadership for a week before I dropped out, due to family crisis. OMG those two classes make this seem like a cake walk!

I had Evidence and Leadership this fall too, and I agree with you. While there are still a lot of gaps in this class, it is better than Leadership by far. It's just too ironic that Leadership, had zero leadership.

On another note, we are turning another page to a new week. I am working on Assignment 2, objectives and it's not that bad! I feel a little relief today, which is good because the holiday this week seriously bites into our time doesn't it? I thought about asking for an extra day, but that just cuts into time for next week. I'm really over the 5 week format. I have to keep my eye on the prize though...

I love the 5 week format. I did 2 8 week classes over the summer, and it seemed so drawn out.

I made a table in microsoft word. I am not sure that is correct but the directions do say " as you write objectives write them inthe format found in Table 10-1 and 10-2 on page 391 of Bastable" Who knows anymore....

I did the same thing. I did post a message on the board to see if this is correct

I haven't gotten that far...I'm alive though...lol! The 2 yr old is puking now. Anyway, working on the DB and assessment. I'll check this assignment out later.

Has anyone started working on the DB? I started last night and, of course, still working on it. Mine is so lengthy -- afraid no one will read it. How are others doing??
