Ohio stna requierments

Published

In Ohio must an individual have a GED to sit for the State Nurse Aid Exam? I called a voc/tech school and they said a person doesn't have to have a GED to take the course, but is it a must to be a STNA?

Yes, you must. And even if they didn't require one for the test, you most certainly wouldn't be hired without one. My advice would be to have one before even taking the course, because your certificate will expire after 2 months, and that may not be enough time to get your GED. Good luck :)

Regardless of what you end up doing in life, getting that GED will boost your confidence level and lead you into opportunities you never thought possible. I've seen this personally many times over with those I've encouraged to take that first step into acheiving their goals. As a business owner, I'd hire an ambitious GED grad over just any regular high school kid that was handed a diploma for just showing up at what people deem "high schools" these days. They had more drive and determination.

No you do not have to have a GED to take the class or sit for the exam. Other wise, you wouldn't have high school kids working. However, I would also recommend getting it. It will certainly increase your hireability.
