So I got accepted into the ADN generic nursing program for tri c and I start in Jan. I was hoping to just get some advice on the program regarding teachers/drug testing/ and anything that can help me out on the program. Anything helps thanks
Congratulations! Random advice I can give you, is to figure out what works best for you with studying and learning/remembering information. Groups are great for some people, but for me it made it more difficult to work with others, but teachers tend to push it. It's kind of the luck of the draw with what teachers you end up with and how they will be. The first 2 semesters, everyone in the program has the same exams, however the third is rough because your professor makes their own tests and some professors are a lot tougher than others in their testing/lecturing.
Don't put off studying, and look online for NCLEX style questions for the topics you are working on. Study first then practice questions, especially for the second semester and on. The first semester is more straightforward with the questioning. Final exams aren't as terrible as you will feel they will be, as they focus on the most important information from each exam throughout the semester.
Be sure to get your drug testing and all vaccination information uploaded as quickly as possible. There are often times they will give you literally days to complete something and you need to act fast. Keep track yourself so you know when they expire and are required to be done again. Not all clinical sites require drug testing, so if yours does, just do it as soon as you find out you need it.
Thank you ☺
Also does anybody know when tri c usually asks students to drug test for the nursing program is it a while before clinicals start or after?
Usually, they drug test you before you start clinicals. Not sure if that policy has changed though.
