What the heck? I have 16 years of HH& Hospice experience. They have an add out for an opening. I have a former co-worker/Boss working there whom recommended I apply. I send my resume( twice), I call and am told I will have my call returned within 24hrs. I send an email...dead silence. Not patting myself on the back here but hey...I am a darn good RN! What the heck is the deal???

Several years ago I was hired on the spot when I applied to Gentiva in person. That is why I usually apply in person when looking for work. To me it is no longer fascinating that online applications go ignored.
Thanks for your response..I totally agree, which is why I DID go in the office. I was very professional and even shook hands with the manager. I was told they no longer take applications in person, and I hade to submit it online. I don't get it:confused:
Well, I don't deal with employers who refuse to deal with me in person. That is my response to getting my online applications ignored. As long as I can stay employed using the in person method of finding work, I will continue to go with what works. What point is there in submitting an online application only to never hear back from them?
Thank you...a sign in itself, that's for sure.

The largest for profit hospice provider in the midwest does not need to be considerate or professional...their objective is to make money.

Odyssey and VistaCare was bought out by Gentiva. I understand there is a problem with integrating the application systems. I recently met an ER nurse that has a heart for hospice, and she filled out on the VistaCare site, and it bounced her to the gentiva site, and she was called by a vistacare home health location......
Anywhoo, i told her to go to the gentiva site directly, my boss called her the same day she sent the application online.
Sorry you had a bad experience-I don't understand why they wouldn't talk to you and then have you send your resume through the online system, if that is what is required.
