Occupational illness & transistion

I have been "transitioned" into sitting at home due to an occupational illness. I was diagnosed with Latex Allergy, had anaphylaxis at work, and was promptly tossed out on worker's comp. That was 6 months ago, and I am trying to put the pieces of my 19 year career back together. I've decided to go into Public Health, and will be starting classes in the Spring. Has anyone else has had something like this happen to them?

I have just been put off for a prolapsed lumbar disc. Fortunately we have a rehab programme where the hospital tries to place you elsewhere within the system to keep you employed. They take into consideration your limitations and endeavour to place you into a suitable position.

I was a nurse for 15 years and then became anaphylactic on the job.......As I sat at home, I knew that I didn't want to give up hope. I wanted to still be able to utilize the knowledge I acquired over the years while being in a safe enviornment. No matter where you go, there is latex.
