Okay, so I realize this may be the dumbest question ever, but I am still gonna ask it lol :)
So for those of you accepted to the ADN program for OCC, when did you get your letter and what did it look like? Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't they say the acceptance letters went out after March 15th? Or am I wrong? And what did the envelope look like? Small? Big? Certified mail? Regular mail?
I'm not insane, I swear, I just REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want to and NEED to get in!!!!

Im curious too, I wonder if it was different from the LPN program? I got mine from the regular mail and it was just a regular white standard size envelope . Nothing special about it from what I remember.

your right anne36 its just a plain jane envelope with a letter notifying you that your either in or out, along with the letter to send back as a response of yes you want in or no you no longer want in and if they have it do you want into the acclerated program. later in June you will be sent a large envelope with a lot more info in it.
as for march 15th. that is an approx date as to when they will send out the letters. i didnt get mine till a week later, cause they hadnt finished processing the apps.
Please to everyone applying. dont bother calling the nursing dept or your counciler. they will not tell you what the gpa cutoff is for 2011. even if they know they wont tell you. people last year tried everything from pretending to be potential students and wanting to know about the programs requirements, to saying they were with Michigan Works and needing to know the cutoff for unemployed workers.
Don't mean to put anymore anxiety on you then you already have but your really wasting your time calling the nursing dept.
Also dont listen to people who are waiting to get into the program when they say theyve heard rumors about what the gpa cutoff is. they dont know and your going to hear some really far fetched numbers. i heard last year that the cutoff was from 3.65 to 3.92

Besides the school that knows the cutoff GPA, students who got a denial letter also know the cutoff. When I received my denial last year. They told me my GPA and the cutoff and whether or not I want to keep my application in for next year.
The letter I got was white envelop from the occ nursing department. Later last year, I got an acceptance from the LPN program. In the acceptance, they don't tell you the cutoff GPA. Just a congratulation and that you are in and you have to do such and such. At the orientation, they told us the cutoff but not exact number. Just a roundup -3.6xx of the LPN. It was higher than the year before.
Well, I'm starting next Tuesday. Yay! And yikes. :) only half way done with reading materials!
Good luck to you.

Good luck jaaaey (and Anne)! and good for you, turning a negative into a positive by taking advantage of the LPN program with plans to bridge. It's a great alternative for those that might end up disappointed this year (I hope I'm not one of them).
Ditto what IfYouSeekAmy said!!!
