NO!!!!!!

well, i worked cardiac for 1.25 years before labor and delivery. i dont wish i worked on PP first. PP isn't my cup of tea, adn i've managed and still manage just fine without having worked there first.

Some of it also depends on where you work. I know some places that you have to do at least 6 months of pp before you can go on to do labor, or even ante...

i went into l&d right out of college and even though i eventually oriented to mother/baby and nursery, i got my start in l&d. i'm very glad i did...everything else fell into place nicely thereafter!

I understand there is a lot of job satisfaction from nurses in L and D..and low turnover :) I'm going to go for it :)

It's definitely worth learning how to deal with pp care. I'm comfortable with it now... you never forget your first "groan" from a deceased patient. :)

:uhoh21: Yikes! Hopefully, not too many deceased patients in postpartum!! Thinking maybe you were thinking post mortem?
