I have a little over a month before I start my new job in my dream speciality, L&D! I know there is so much to learn and I need to be patient but can any nurses tell me what I should focus on/study in this month before I start!? I've been looking over notes and books from nursing school. Any other advice is helpful.
Hopefully you will be provided a solid orientation.
Perhaps read through the threads in this section, for tips?
Congrats! I just started too and it's been a wonderful whirlwind! I focused on typical meds/doses and what to watch for. But I have learned mostly from being on the floor and then if I need to look something up for more clarity, I do.
I'm starting in a little under a month as well. I took an Introduction to FHM course and will be reviewing strip interpretation and interventions before I begin. I also got my hands on the unit's polices and procedures so I will be reviewing that as well! Best of luck to you and congratulations!
