I've been a nurse for about a year now and interviewed for an L&D job... and I got it! I'm so excited because I've always wanted to be an L&D nurse, maybe a midwife in the future. I'm posting because I want to know how to best prepare. I'm doing a preceptorship w/ classes. Should I brush up on my maternity nursing using my old nursing school texts? Are there any books that anyone recommends? Or should I just wait and see what the classes/preceptor teach me?

Congratulations Gail! When I first got hired into OB, I read a lot of the stickys that are at the top of the OB board. Very helpful! Good luck! I hope you love it!
