1. Hello all. I just found out today that we are going to be inducing a pt that has epilepsy. I don't have any other details. I assume, knowing the doctor, that this will be a prostin then pit or simply a pit induction. I don't know if the pt is on any anticonvulsants at this time. As we are a small hospital we usually take care of low risk pts and I am not familiar with this kind of pt.

I understand that with anticonvulsants during pregnancy there will be a greater risk of cleft palate and some heart anomolies.

Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Just to let you know. This delivery turned out well. Pts epilepsy was well controlled with Tegretol. NB did have heavy meconium before delivery. Few lates but no variables. Ended up having a nuchal cord x3. Apgars 5 and 9. No congentetal anomolies. No problems that were R/T epilepsy
