I have been an LDRP and GYN surgical nurse for 5 years. I can say without reservation, the BEST learning comes from *EXPERIENCE* and STUDY! find a good MENTOR and follow him/her. get yourself into some good seminars/conferences about issues related to LDRP...e.g. fetal monitoring and legal issues related to LDRP care. GET NRP!!! (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) if you do not already have it.
I also recommend AWHONN's Core Curriculum for Inpatient Obstetric Nursing. A great book for nurses entering this field. It's outline format is very useful, easy to read and helpful. Be a SPONGE!!!! The best teacher is EXPERIENCE! GOOD LUCK TO YOU! Welcome to LDRP nursing....the best there is IMO!
