Hello, I am looking to start the program in Fall of 2017! I'm looking to meet students and take this journey together and share our experience
I agree @Readytonurse!! I paying out of pocket for whole program! I can't afford that but I commucated with someone in the program and she informed me that she rented most of her books, so maybe they give that to you as an option to get your books up front but I dnt think its required well at least I hope not!!!
Lol, I keep telling myself tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow afternoon!
@bmonica22 that's what I was thinking, but I know that my friend wouldn't randomly lie to me lol. I sent her a txt asking for clarification on it and how much it costs to buy everything outright. Maybe the nursing dept. decides to commit to x, y, and z books before the program begins each year then announces them at orientation (my best guess).
Ok so I called Highland Lakes and asked about it. The secretary told me not to start doing anything (physical, TB, background check, etc.)/ not to buy anything (books, scrubs, gear, etc.) until I get that letter and attend orientation in April. Yes, the college puts bundles together and we can buy them outright- but, she said cryptically, "you'll find out more about that during orientation."
Edit: decoding the secretary's lingo I guess the key word here would be can opposed to must. I tried to pump her for more info. on prices, etc. but got the cryptic "you'll find out more about that during orientation."

Yikes, I surely hope we're not required to buy everything for the next 2 years up front!!
