i just submitted my application for nyu, fall 2009. it was a pretty lengthy process, which i guess is good because their application is very well rounded. now the waiting starts!

Hi Faith!
I also applied for the Accelerated BSN with fall start. Am I correct in thinking that they don't start notifying us until the beginning of April? I thought I saw somewhere online that we hear by March 15th so I was really scared, but then I checked the NYU website again and saw April 1st *whew*
What other schools did you apply to if you don't mind me asking? I did just NYU and Villanova (both the 5 semester second degree program and 15 month accelerated programs), but if those don't work out I'll be doing some more applications soon!
Well I wish you the best of luck! :)

I'm also waiting to hear from NYU for Fall '09. I originally applied for Spring '09 but after sending everything in, realized my past Chemistry class was only 3 credits. They offered to hold my application for this Fall while I completed the class. I'm taking it now and it ends in May. I heard they offer conditional acceptances if they're waiting for grades from you. Does that mean they'll accept you under the condition that you get a good grade in the class ur taking and if you don't do well they have the right to revoke the acceptance?
Good luck to you guys!
whoops
it's so hard to wait, isn't it?
i applied to two other second degree bachelor programs...one i won't hear from until mid may, and the other one i have been accepted to. i am grateful to be accepted into a program, but i really really only want nyu.
the last time i called their admissions office (few days ago) they said my application had not been reviewed yet- that they review them in rounds. they said i should hear something in the next several weeks.
i just want to know already! good luck to the both of you as well!!

I applied as well, and am anxiously waiting :)
The other program I applied to starts orientation May 6 and classes start May 11, so I'm worried about hearing in time.
When I called NYU yesterday to check if my application was complete, they said they would be reveiwing them in the next few weeks and it might be May before we heard. Has anyone heard anything different?

I sent in my application just before the deadline and I received my acceptance letter on March 30....
Congrats blackhorizon! I sent in my application on March 1st and received my acceptance letter today!!! :) I'm so excited, relieved, and nervous! I still have a few other schools to hear back from as well, but the NYU program sounds great and I'd be very happy going there!
I hope everyone else hears back good news as well, g'luck!!!

Hi everyone,
I received my acceptance about two weeks ago. Does anyone know about the reputation of NYU's accelerated bachelor's program?? From what I've heard, we will be the third class?? I spoke to one student who was in the first class and she said that it was somewhat "unorganized" and many times it felt that it was busy work...I was pretty shocked to hear this. But I guess this is because it was the FIRST aBSN class? I'd appreciate any feedback on anything they've heard about the program.
Also, do a lot of people plan to continue towards their master's? How easy/hard is it for aBSN students to get into NYU's master's program??
Thanks!!

I just applied to NYU as well, but sent my application in Mid-March, so don't expect to hear quite soon.
ucdavistudent - When I visited a couple weeks ago, the person in the Nursing office (I think an admin. asst.?) gave me some information about the BSN/MSN bridge program. He said that you apply after your first aBSN semester and then are able to take Masters classes in your final semester. He also said that it is very unlikely that an NYU aBSN student wouldn't get into the MSN program as well.
I'm definitely planning to continue to a Masters program...I'm looking toward women's health/nurse midwifery. I'll be looking at 4 or 5 schools for that program, including NYU.
Congrats to you as well Scouter82!!! I am waiting to hear back from other schools as well. The tuition at NYU is kinda steep.....so I'm hold out for SUNY downstate, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck on your other choices. Where else did you apply if you don't mind me asking?

Hi, everyone. This whole forum thing is new to me... but I was recently accepted to the aBSN at NYU, and I am so excited/scared! Congrats to everyone else that got it :) I live in Seattle, and I have never even been to NYC! Does anyone have any idea where I should try to live? I'm trying to get an idea of how much this year is going to cost me I have five months to save my buns off! Any advice would be helpful! Also, I would love to get in contact with someone in the program right now, or who graduated from it in the past, just to get some insight about what to expect. Any ideas about how to do that? Thanks! :)
