NYU ABSN FAll 2021

Published

Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!

Congrats @christinaaaax! Are you planning on accepting/attending NYU now that you're in?

BTW it is officially not my week either y'all, LOL, but keeping hope alive?

I'm thinking about it but my financial aid package is pretty disappointing LOL. I was hoping for more aid but since im a second degree student, it looks like loans are my main option

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting checking this forum religiously and I still havent heard anything. I want to cryyyyy. list is gone but nothing yet. I was accepted to mount st vincent but really want NYU!

congrats to everyone accepted!

One of my friends applied for Fall 2020 last year and got rejected but she said she heard back in late March into the first week of April... I've been waiting for weeks now so I guess we just gotta be optimistic that we haven't gotten a rejection thus far. Hopefully this means something for us since we're still waiting! ?

What are the odds of getting accepted into NYU when flying out to NY for a graduation trip with your family?? Because that happened to me today! I was hysterically crying when my plane landed haha

For those still waiting to hear back: Don’t lose hope!!

Thank you so much!! I received an email saying an important update is ready to view at 2:14pm. I was on the plane all morning so I wasn’t able to check for any portal changes beforehand.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to respond to my question. My parents give me the "It's okay, you're only 22" excuse every week, which is true but doesn't help in this situation, haha. So reading about your unique experiences of getting admitted into the program this early in your career gives me some optimism. I'm hoping to join you this fall, but I'll just have to wait and see. Once again, congratulations on your recent and upcoming graduations, as well as your acceptances!

Hi there, I haven't read through everyone's responses to your post but wanted to share my experience. I was accepted a month ago. I am changing careers at the age of 40. I've never worked in healthcare nor volunteered. I spent a lot of time in hospitals over a decade because of a sick parent with cancer. I have spent the last 18 years in a successful design career in nyc. I had a letter of rec from a longtime boss of 10 years, and I had a 3.3 undergrad GPA from a very good university for my first bachelor's degree. I have straight A's in all my pre-req's which were taken at a community college in NJ. It is really hard to say how they weigh everything about a candidate. Maybe some weight is on the undergrad college you went to, plus the GPA. I see people saying portage classes are easy, whereas I found all my prereq's to be extremely challenging at a community college, maybe they weigh those things. And its really hard to say one person had a better or stronger personal statement or letter of rec too. I think we all come from very different walks of life, and hopefully your personal statement reflects who you are, and why you want to be in the program, in a genuine way. I wish you the best!
