Interested in moving to NYC one day, as well as doing some form of home care nursing.

Is a car needed or is one able to navigate by use of trains?

More than likely. It would be ridiculous, with tolls and traffic, to send you over bridges and through tunnels.

I would say if you're in Manhatten,.. no car needed. If anything traveling by car would take longer,.. and also,.. as a Home Health Nurse you're more likely to be making your own schedule so you'll have a little wiggle room.

Queens and the Bronx.. whole different animal. I would definitely suggest a car. There are miles of areas untouched by the train system and the bus sytem there would not be efficient enough.
