I'm trying to find out some info about correctional nurses and whether or not they are union there in Southern Nevada. I am currently accepting a union position and was wondering if it would be easy to relocate with a union.

I don't think any job is hindered or helped by the union in the manner you are suggesting in your post. People usually just get jobs, leave jobs, or transfer and deal with whether the old and new jobs have the union in place when they get there. Your new employer is either union or not. Just because your present employer is union does not mean you can't transfer elsewhere. If you want to stay in a union shop then you just make sure your next employer is union before you hire on. Nursing is not like other union jobs. I worked union in another line of work and was exposed to their hiring system for travelers from out of area. I did not like it. Travelers were always at the end of the line. It was like they were second class citizens even inside the union.

Although I don't work in corrections, I think most of the time, a good guess is that they are union.
