not all of them will pass especially if one studied from a school that popped up out of nowhere. and not all who will pass will land a nursing job. I think majority of the june 07 passers to present & even before those years are suffering from nursing unemployment.

i believe only 44-45% will pass the exam...

are the nursing schools in the country properly regulated by ched? i mean, ched should do certain steps about the mushrooming of nursing schools. the educational institutions too can do something, and that is proper screening of enrolees...

This is really the highest nursing examinees as for the record.. In fact Majority of my batchmates are going to take the exam this upcoming NLE. Woah..hope they all pass! but as we all know,, the hardest part is how to utilize this great number of nurses in our country:(

Since there are new schools that are going to be sending students for the first time, and they are not the best in their programs, suspect that the passing rate is going to be in the 40% rate.

Bigger issue that no one seems to think about is that there are already more than 500,000 unemployed RNs in the Philippines as it is before any of these newbies take the exam.

This is something that your country needs to address first, before worrying where they are going to try to send someone to work and not in the role of the RN that has a four year Bachelor's degree.

What they need to do, at least in my opinion and others: If a school does not have at least a 70% pass rate, then they need to be closed down right from the start. And what about the programs that have never had a passer but are still open? Who are they paying off to keep their doors open?

Then perhaps you will see some changes for the better, but not until then.

The chances of a nurse graduate to pass NLE is getting smaller and smaller each time. New schools who are not even capable to teach nursing are on the rise every year and Commission on Higher Education in our country doesn't have enough teeth to close down these schools. It's business...these schools fuel on the hopes of these students including their family.

They have no where to go after graduation. Poor students. I consider myself luckier.

Why does the government allow people to enroll in schools that are not qualified to produce nurses. I think the nurses who enroll in established programs would complain since these schools make there diploma look less worthy.

Well i guess setting a high rating for each school should really be implimented. Yes its true that not all schools are doing well. I just hope that the supply and demand of nurses in our country will soon be solved. God Bless all filipino nurses!

I totally agree!!! I'm a June'07 passer and a lot of my batchmates from my school are still unemployed in the nursing profession, and we're only 400++. (At least 50% are still unemployed or underemployed, i.e. call centers, or waiting for their training or waiting to be absorbed.) When I had my BLS and First Aid training last July, most of us there are batch '06 & '07 and unemployed. And now there's batch '08!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: And in about 6months, batch '09! Just imagine the sheer number of nurses graduating! I bet unemployed nurses would probably reach 1million soon if nursing schools are not regulated. :down:

I read in the newspaper (Inquirer) that there's at least 400,000 unemployed nurses all over the Philippines. Well, that's to be expected since a lot hospitals are not hiring. There's too many nurses but very few job opportunities locally. In other countries, there are opportunites however you need to have experience first. So it goes back to the issue (our main problem really) that there's almost no job vacancies here. Hence, it's really hard to get the experience required of us to work abroad. :crying2:

How is it going to be solved? It is only getting worse and worse and students are suffering because of it. Over 500,000 unemployed nurses there now and more on the way.

Well they can stop offering nursing careers in schools. . . but i doubt it. They are making us thier cash cows. :cry:

Not all of them can pass on the first try but eventually everyone will on their 2nd, 3rd, or nth time. The country needs to close down poor performing schools as the mass production of nurses is very high. Not all of these will work as RN and to think that there is not enough RN job available in PI to all of these future RNs.
