I am currently and LPN going back to school for my RN, BSN. MY son was born @ 28 wks. He was in NICU for 70 days. You have to be a very caring person to work in that unit. Not only do you have to care for the baby but also help the parents. We had a nurse who had also had a premie child and she was one of the best nurses. She knew how we felt and made sure that she told us everything and included us in everything. She gave incouragement but also told us flat out of the not so good chances also. Parents need support just as much as the baby needs medical attention. My goal is to go work in NICU. Hope this helps. Angelia
