does anyone have any tips on the CORRECT way to critique a nursing research article?

All depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
If you are attempting to prove that the research is unscientific, you would do it by presenting a counter argument, citing credible evidence from scholarly sources to cast doubt.
If you are attempting to prove that the research is outdated, you would present newer research from scholarly sources, citing current statistics and evidence based practices.
If you are attempting to discredit the researcher or theorist, you would do it by highlighting deficits in the researcher's methods or academic background.
