Standard Tylenol comes 160mg/5mL.

What have you done so far? Where does your confusion lie?

I'm not sure what the question itself is? Are you trying to find how many ml's to admin? Or if this is a safe dose for the child?

Acetaminophen used to be available in an "infant drops" formulation of 100 mg/mL. This formulation was removed around the same time that the maximum daily recommended dose was reduced to 3 grams.

Likely the instructor has yet to update her or his worksheet.

When I worked in the hospital, we carried the 100 mg/mL exclusively until it was pulled by the manufacturer. It was so much easier to get the kids to take the concentrated one.

OP, your patient weighs 22 kg. 15 mg/kg is the max dose. What is 15 x 22? That's your safest max dose. Is your ordered dose more than that? Then it's not safe. Is it less? Then it is.
