Ultrascope

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

Is anyone familiar with the ultrascope? A coworker has one and claims it is better than her Littmann. I looked at their website and Amazon. They get great reviews. One upside to them is that you literally design your own scope by pairing a head with the tubing color of your choice, making it harder for anyone to walk off with it.

Any thoughts or input would be helpful.

I love my Ultrascope. I had a Littman that I couldn't hear much of anything with, then I borrowed a friend's Ultrascope and it was amazing! I bought one with a holographic head and purple tubing, and nobody dared walk off with it because it was the only one of its kind among the nurses. :)

While I'm a Littmann fan, I don't turn my nose up at the Ultrascope brand. By all the accounts I've ever read or heard, they're quite decent. If you want one and you can afford it, go ahead and get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks guys. I wanted some opinions that were not filtered by a company website. Now the fun part, decisions decisions!

I also have the exact Same design on my ultra scope....excellent taste

I liked littman, I hear no different with ultra scopes. I've had two littmans stolen and one eaten by a dog. They were all master cardiology 3s with my name enscribed.

my dog hasn't eaten my ultrascope....and neither have the physicians so obviously it deters dogs and docs. ;)

If you want to try out an UltraScope without investing nearly $100, keep in mind that UltraScope also makes the MaxiScope line of stethoscopes. The MaxiScope is actually an UltraScope in solid colors (e.g. red, green, yellow) and costs in the $40 range.

My maxiscope is ordered. Honey handed me his card and said "get it". Hot pink head, bright orange tubing, and my name and a butterfly engraved on it. Coolest Valentines present ever!

So, you decided to test the waters with a MaxiScope instead of an UltraScope for now? Good choice!

Yeah, I have a whole career ahead of me to invest in a high dollar scope. Right now I need a good one for manual BP's, apical pulses, and for school.

It's here! The colors match the pictures on the site beautifully. I tried it on my kids, it sounds better than the Littmann one of the nurses at work let me use at work.

It looks like you have gotten your answer regarding Ultrascope, but in case someone else is reading this thread to learn more...

I find my Ultrascope to be very effective in areas where there is lots of ambient noise: noisy air-conditioning, people talking, etc. I was really struggling to hear sounds as a student in clinical, and the Ultrascope has come through for me in terms of great sound transmission. I recommend it! :)
