Stylish Shoes for Male Student

  1. I realize this question has been asked a ton, but I thought I would still go ahead and ask. I start nursing school this Fall, so I need some nursing shoes. They have to be white, and, of course, no sneakers or clogs. I have been to a few nursing apparel stores and saw some of the shoes they sell there. I may be off base, but they all looked so ugly, with round tips, and when I tried one on, I felt like I was wearing a brick on my foot.

I am trying to find something that is comfy, but also stylish. If you have any suggestions, i would very much appreciate it!

We need more specifics. Do they mean only an exact type of shoe is ok? Or do you have to buy a specific type of shoe from a uniform store? Can any white work shoe work?

Have you checked UniformAdvantage or AllHeart websites? They've got a nice selection of men's shoes. Having to get white non-clog/non-sneakers is going to severely limit your options. That being said, I don't think many are going to look at your feet.

Thank you for your response. As someone who just starts nursing school I many not have the rationale behind having only white shoes. I know there might be times when we may get bodily fluids on our shoes, so they need to be the kind to quickly clean/wipe. I don't know. But I will check out the websites you suggested.

They said white shoes, no sneakers, and no clogs. I guess I can purchase such from a store or online. But everything I have found thus far are something like this:

As an aside for shoes, I suggest wearing them in at home before you wear them for 12hrs at clinicals - some nursing shoes can be really hard on the inside, which is great if your feet love that, and painful if you don't. You might have to pop a cushion insole inside them, but better to find out before you have to wear them for the better part of a day!

I love the NurseMates shoes! They look pretty stylish

I am starting nursing school this fall. I picked up a pair of these Dr. Martens Cavendish Softy T and a Sof Sole Men's Airr Orthotic to fit the shape of my feet. Look pretty good and super comfortable as well. If you have had any experience with Doctor Martens shoes before you will know there regular shoes are quite heavy yet extremely comfortable because of the air soles they are known for but these are very different. These shoes are significantly lighter. Just make sure you get an in sole that matches your feet or else you will be in quite a bit of pain with a mismatched sole.

Dude, trust me on this. There is NOTHING cute about nursing. Nobody cares what you look like.. and you will be run ragged in any shoes. Comfort is all that matters.
