I refuse to buy another stethoscope

  1. Mine used to be borrowed constantly and I would have to constantly ask for it back. It would get lost by my fault admitedly and then return out of nowhere months later. Which would suggest it had been used by someone else. I had one patient (demented) who got a hold of my old steth and broke the bell.

Now I just use the disposable ones provided by the hospital.

Yeah, I can't imagine buying an expensive stethoscope. Our unit keeps a few cheapish ones around. Sometimes I order a few cheapish ones.

I've had the same Littman for 15 years and when the Bell broke I found out that Littman guarantees their scopes for life and replaced the bell for free.
