Best bra for nurses

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Updated:   Published

I am wondering if anyone knows the best bra to wear while working.

I wear regular bras from Victoria's Secret but they are slightly uncomfortable while moving around and walking around. The straps sometimes come off from my shoulders.

Should I wear sports bras? I like supportive and comfortable full-cover bras.

Please let me know if you know anything! Thank you.

I wear sports bras because they are most comfortable when moving around a lot, I don't really have a specific brand in mind but any sports bra can do

FYI - if the straps are falling down you probably have the wrong size. Go to a REAL bra store (not victoria's) and have a real fitting. Then buy what you can afford and is comfortable to you.

This question has never come up before. Some of the comments gave me a real good and needed laugh. But I'm all about comfort. The softest most comfortable bra is what I choose. Save the sexy, lacy Victorian Secret bra for a hot date! Anyway I've used sports bras and now use comfort choice although I prefer their older bras, the recent ones I bought from them are not really that soft or comfortable so I'm wearing an older threadbare bra, but who can know that, but me. lol For what it's worth a coworker admitted she doesn't wear a bra, just a t-shirt under her uniform and no one would know if she hadn't mentioned it. I wish I could get away with that but sadly for me that is not an option.

I feel like my B get squashed in sports bras and no supports in back (may be due to my body type). I prefer comfort straps, wide back, active lifestyle playtex bras. They lift and feel lightweight, good materials too. lol i sound like a commercial.

Funny, I'm seeing an ad on this page "Meet the invisible nursing bra" :D

I have worked with probably upwards of 500 nurses in the past ten years and have never once discussed bra choice with any of them. No, there is not a "go-to bra" for nurses. You don't have to gravitate towards specific brands of anything just because you're a nurse. Danskos are not de rigueur, either. Wear whatever you find comfortable with your particular anatomy.

Actually once I was talking to a coworker about I hate bras, only wear them at work, and she suggested trying sport bras. They are great, comfortable.:roflmao:

I think you should just forego the bra. Let them swing free and clear. Your (male) patients and colleagues will love you.

From a (very) dirty old man who can't believe this is a real question.

Grumpy, my laptop screen almost got my dinner all over it, I was laughing so hard!:roflmao:

Questions like this one are always a little creepy ....like when some weird man at the mall shows you a thong and asks if you think "his wife" would like it.

Anyway, I will say that Victoria's Secret is garbage ...even for date night!!

Sometimes the commenters truly IRK my last nerves...anyhoo... As a CNA I only wear sport bras to work..at 1st I would wear regular bras and as a heavy chest woman it was quickly ill favored... Sports bra was the way to go for me... Give it a try

Sports or full coverage and something with a lift. I like ones with thicker straps.Make sure to try them on and move around in them before you buy. This is a good question. Its important to have good shoes and a good bra on the job.

If your bras aren't fitting right, you're wearing the wrong size. Check out a subreddit called "A bra that fits" to find out how to accurately measure your size. I was surprised with my results but now my bras are comfortable and no longer slip. And stay away from Victoria's Secret; those are expensive garbage bras!
