When I was in nursing school, my roommate was assigned a 6 year old "tough guy" who tried very hard to intimidate his nursing student. As we discussed him, my advice was not to worry unless he pulled a knife on her.

The next morning at breakfast as she tried to give him his medication, he grabbed the plastic butter knife, and pointing at her, told her in no uncertain terms he didn't want to take his medication.

Remembering our conversation from the night before, she started laughing. The kid didn't know what to do and ended up taking his medication...

In my first semester clinicals,on the first day we had a pt, one of my class mates was so afraid to go into the pt room. When she did she went in and came out running. She saidmy my pt is smoking from the face, I think she may be on fire. And of course Im like WHAT! So I went into the room and I started to laugh, she was having a breathing treatment :rotfl:. I told the other NS and we all were laughing so hard we were crying.

omg- i'm sure the nerves kept from seeing the 'real' thing!!!

i will start my second semester of ns this august and i can't wait to see what clinical experiences i will have to later talk about!!!
