Hello everybody. I'm planning on applying to a nursing school next year. Unfortunately, I was really stupid and was arrested for shoplifting about a year ago in FL. I'm really ashamed and sorry for what I did. I was in a dark place and I don't want that one mistake to define me, I want to turn my life around. I'm really anxious about applying to a Nursing school and that's all I think about 24/7, I really want to get accepted. I was arrested for petty theft but my case was dismissed, since I completed the diversion program. I'm planning to get my arrest record expunged.

Is there any chance for me to get in and get a liscense?

Nobody here can answer this, but it is reasonable that a situation that is only a year old may not go in your favor. BTW someone I once worked with was arrested for shoplifting and lost her nursing license because of it. Take from that what you will.

I don't know where you are from, but I know there is a girl in my BSN program who had been arrested for shoplifting and is still able to be in the program. our application asks if you have ever been arrested and to explain and of course there is a background check and she is still in so it must be possible!
