Resume help! just a question!

  1. My CPR certification expired in April, so I have a couple questions. Should I renew before applying to jobs, and is it ok to state on my resume that I was "formerly certified in CPR expired april/2014" or should i leave it off all together? Thanks! I'm a new nurse, so i'm not sure what to put, and I didn't know where to post this either so hopefully its ok!

I would just go get it renewed. You will need to do it anyway (most places will not allow you to work without a valid BLS). In the meantime, I would probably leave it off your resume altogether.

Definitely get certified again. You can't renew because it's expired, you have to sit through the whole class again.

As a PP already stated you can't renew if it's expired. Just take a new course and be done with it. It's a few hours of your life and it will hopefully help boost your resume.

Yeah, you have to sit through the whole class because it expired. I would shop around since usually you can find a BLS class at around 30 dollars. Make sure it is AHA BLS and not some other company. Also, it can't be heartsaver.

Otherwise leave it off. Most hospitals are going to online class and then a skills checkoff.
