nursing or radiography?

Published

Hi, I am going to be entering my second year of college in the fall. This past year I was back and forth between nursing and radiography from the start of my freshman year. But when I scheduled my first semester classes I took mainly all prerequisites that were needed for nursing, along with other basic classes, and ones that will help with other health careers as well. After my first semester I was still unsure of if I wanted to do nursing or not because I became more informed about nursing school and how difficult it is, especially at my school. But I continued to do more health related classes and nursing classes second semester. My second semester was really stressful and difficult, but I did well. But after that hard of a semester it made me really question if I wanted to continue with nursing because it's only going to get worse. Also, there is a large amount of students that apply into the nursing program at my school and I feel that it is very unlikely that I'll get in. I can apply to the program within the first 10 days of my fall semester coming up. So I really need to figure out what I want to do soon because I would have to switch my upcoming semester classes. Also, I really could see myself being a radiographer because I just think it's more my style, but at my school it's only an associates degree but then I planned to go back to school and get a bachelors or specialize in ultrasound, MRI, or anything really. I'm just really unsure of which one is better. I've heard so many good and bad things about both of these careers. Sorry so long, but any advice will help. Thanks!

My advice is to job shadow for a day in nursing or radiography. I am a rad tech and now changing careers. See what is the job market to see what is available. Hope this helps
