Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

No, I know. But I'm still jealous :p

;-) hey I still have to study Misty. I am not taking the NCLEX anytime soon. I need to start putting aside NCLEX only specific study time.

That sounds kind of cool the BSN you plan to do but I would hate that GPA. Especially when the Masters programs are so competitive.

That's true, but I want to do my FNP at Frontier and there have been quite a few people who have done it there that went to . Frontier is an online school (highly regarded too) so it's not as competitive. Trust me, I am ALL about the online schools! Thank God for this forum or I wouldn't have known about La Inter, WGU, Frontier, none of it!

@DesignerMommy and @WorldTravelingYogi: Thank you for all the feedback with everything! I would be going insane without both your help! Along with everyone else. Thank you. :)

Misty how do you do a Family Nurse Practitioner degree online? That seems near impossible. Almost like doing the RN online. I am asking but I am going to go check it out now.

You do the didactic stuff online and then you find a perceptor for your clinicals. I guess it came out wrong when I said it was an online school. does all of their stuff online as far as classes and then you have to do your clinical hours in your community. I think there's like 575 clinical hours that you need to get done or something like that. And I believe that they give you a time frame of probably 6 to 9 months to get all of that done. You're right, there really is no way to do everything online. That would be crazy! I know that I would never want to be treated by a NP that didn't do any clinical hours LOL

I would eventually like to get my own practice in a more rural and/or underprivileged area so I can help out those who can't afford the medical attention that they need. That's my dream :redpinkhe There are 11 or so states where NPs can work independently and even open their own practice :)

No problem! We both know what a frustrating experience it is to try and do things over the phone with La Inter. You pretty much have to go in person, and that isn't possible if you're across the ocean LOL If it weren't for this forum I would have had NO idea about this school, so I am totally into "paying it forward." :)

You got that right. Oh there were times I was going to pull my hair out I was so frustrated.

I echo pearlgirl52508's sentiments...you guys have just been a wealth of information. I thank you.

How does one pay for housing if refunds comes out so late?

Hey girl. lol. Have you made a trip over When are you planning to move over there? Im still looking for a place. I have to leave my husband and daughter back in Florida for awhile. So I'll be moving by myself :(. Just to save money for right now cause he has a job back in FL and a job is not for sure in PR. Change of plans for me!!!

I don't plan on moving over until the last week in July. Just because I need to work up until that time. Aww it so sad about ur husband and child...at least the program is quick so u can get back to them soon. I am searching clasificadosonline for apartments. I was looking at some areas on the train line cause it will be easy to get to school. I'm gonna pm u cause I know if we start talking 'roommate' the moderators will def be down our throats.

feMamafuture RN are you going to metro or la inter i need a roommate and if its cheaper that way it would be great for us to get together i am coming from florida too!!!what part are u in?
