Anyone out there have info on the school in Arecibo, PR? It is a 24 month program that begins in August.

I'd love to hear anything, thanks.

Are there any pre reqs needed for UMET???? Is it difficult to get in???

All you need is a 2.0. Pre reqs include microbiology, chem, anatomy, two classes of western civilization, two maths, sociology, electives, etc lol

There are no pre-req's Ijust gen eds) but you have a limit to the certain amount of classes you can take, so it would benefit you to get them done beforehand. I did notice in the course catalog that in order for you to start the first three nursing courses you have to have Human Anatomy done, so I guess in a way, that's the only real pre-req.

Sorry like belle1005 said no pre reqs. The classes I mentioned are those needed for the bsn. Some of them

Whats the website for UMET??? InterAmericana is driving me up the wall. Is the nursing program at UMET in English???? and what's the website for UMET?

Gen eds are not in English but the nursing courses are. It's a "billingual" program.

Does anyone know if there are schools in pr that offer a MSN for people with a degree in another subject besides nursing, and if so, are these degrees offered in English?? I have a BS in science and really want to just knock out a masters degree if Im going to go back to school and deal with all the bullcrap! Ive found that UMASS offers this option but its 30 grand a year....ouch!

Nope, there are no Masters nursing programs in English on the island as of now. And there are definitely not any direct entry programs.

Hi all!

I have learned SO much reading these posts! I have been so discouraged the last month and now even more because, although I had priority registration at my community college I was still unable to get into my chem class, they are all full!!. They are full at the 6 surrounding colleges close to where I live. I NEED that class to get into my other sciences. All my generals are done, except the pre req sciences for the nursing program. I really want this to be my career, but I was starting to lose hope :( until I found this thread :) I feel like now maybe I actually have a chance to get into a program.

Can someone please tell me if I need to complete my sciences before I can attend Intramerica? What are the requirments needed to get it? also can you please give me the website? I appreciate everyones help and all of your posts!

Hi,

I am very new to this site, but do they offer all of those sciences in english?? Is the 2 years for ADN or BSN?

thanks,

Veronica

Okay, first I encourage you to use google. Saves a lot of time- the Inter's website is metro.inter.edu

For the Inter you have to have all of THEIR gen eds done to do the accelerated program (like English 1-3, Spanish 1-3, others). If you dont you can do the regular program and finish the gen eds during the program. There is one science you need and it something along the lines of earth science, my brother took it. I can't remember the course name but he used an earth science book. All gen eds are in English.

I'm assuming your asking about the Inter, the ADN is 2 years and BSN is 3 years. All of the info I gave is for the Inter.

There are two MSN programs I know of that are in English. I have no clue what the requirements are to get in.
