Staying motivated for CPNE?

Students Online Learning

So my test date is about 6 weeks away, I took a workshop in April and now I can not get myself to study!! I just have zero interest and find a million other things to do. I feel pretty good about the labs, have my mnemonics memorized but can use practice on actually doing them, and really need to get to work on care planning and documentation. I know I work best under pressure of a close deadline, so with 6 weeks I feel like I have all this time to study so no pressure. Any suggestions?! What keeps you going?

Take a week off. I had the same problem -- I work best closer to my deadline! :) If you already know your mnemonics and feel good about the labs this far out, I think you're probably ahead of the curve!

I agree with Lunah. Take a week off. It sounds like you are doing great! Make yourself get back at it after that week, though. :)

LOL, you guys are not helping!! But ok, I'll take your advice and give myself a little break. I'm also concerned that I'm not freaking out about all these little things that people seem to come up with on the EPN. I mean things I would never in a million years think about. I guess I'm a bit more laid back, but I am starting to wonder if I'm not thinking about this hard enough?! Perhaps I will start to get crazy when the date gets closer... hopefully not!

Just think 2000 dollars every time you don't feel like studying!!!

Then the incredible feeling of relief when you pass the CPNE!!!:jester:

Then think it's almost done.:jester:

Good luck to you

I would make sure your care plan and documentation is tight! Have you thought about doing one of the online workshops through Excelsior? The Care Plan one is 2 weeks and Documentation is 1 week. They're short, but they will set you straight!

I have news for you, six weeks is not all that long of a time left to prepare, especially when you throw in procrastination and goof off time. And, you better think about $2000 every time you get the urge to shove it aside!

Take one of the online workshops. I did the careplanning and documentation about 3 weeks before I went to UTICA. Make sure you write your mnemonics out daily. Try to do one area of care on your family everyday. You don't have to spend hours practicing but I would devote at least 30 minutes a day doing something related to the CPNE. Good Luck and hang in there.

Thanks everyone! Did a mock PCS today and I need to get my act together. I think I did ok, but I definitely need to make myself look at this stuff everyday.
