Passed HC Essentials Safety test!!!

YES! YES! YES! I made a B:yeah:.

I was so scared when I submitted my answers. The computer kept asking "are you sure?". I was thinking, "YES! I am sure! Now let me know whether I passed or not". I was scared to look at it. I was thinking there goes $235.00 down the drain.

Some of the questions were easy, others I just don't really know the answer. I used studyguide 101 to study. And it really helped!

Chronicity.... you're next! :angryfire

For the EC veterans (lol).... which EC tests were hard and easy for you? And why? Thanks. I look forward and I really, really, really appreciate any information you can give a newbie like me.

I have been preparing for this test for two weeks. I feel ready, I hope! Do you have to be enrolled before taking first tests? I have sent in my transcripts and applied, can I go ahead and take the first test? Was studyguide 101 your only resource for studying? Thanks for any help!

Congrats on passing first test!!

kkonrad03...Congrats! Traci

:ancong!:

I was the old curriculum, but the units with a lot of cardiac, endrocrine, and cancer were my worst.

And maternal/child just bored me.

cwallp,

I think I studied for about 3 wks. I used studygroup 101. It's very, very helpful and will save you a lot of time reading the textbooks. But of course, it wouldn't hurt to buy the previous ed. of textbooks they recommend. I just didnt....because I know I can't read all the stuff they want me to know. Besides, I have nursing books and NCLEX books when I was in ADN program.

You don't have to be enrolled when you take the 1st test:Safety. But, you can't take anymore unless you apply and enroll to EC. I took the 1st test before committing myself to EC because I want to know for myself if this is something that I can do. When I got home today, I submitted my application online. Tomorrow, I'll send a copy of my LPN license and college transcript. For the meantime, I'll go ahead and start preparing for the next test: Chronicity.

Good luck to you, too. Just go for it. I've been flip-flopping for over a year b/w local CC and EC. I think the only way to motivate yourself is go ahead and pay for the test...so, you can "force" yourself to study. It also helps to buy their practice tests. It does help.

Let me know how you're progressing with EC...since we're in the same boat... we can always be each others support system.

Good luck. You'll pass the test.

cwallp...I replied...it's somewhere down this thread, lol. Sorry, I'm so new to this. But, I'm enjoying posting here. The "veterans" as I like to call them... are very, very helpful and encouraging.

kkonrad, Thanks for your reply. I am going to schedule my first test. I don't want to drag my feet because I know I can do this! I know I have to stay focused, study and work really hard! Hopefully we can be supportive to each other and get through this! Keep me posted!cwallp

Congratulations! You are doing great. I am glad you decided to push forward. After all that NC talk, I was not sure if you would do it.

Congrats! :yeah:

After dragging my feet for months...I took my first one in January (got an A!) then put everything on hold because I had surgery and frankly didn't feel motivated to open a book until the last few days. Now I am ready to tackle the rest of them. I am not an LPN so I will take the 2nd one in 2 weeks. I decided to take Transition to the Registered Professional Nurse Role next at the end of March then to Chronicity.

I bought the mystudygroup101 notes but prefer to use the EC study guides and EC practice exams are worth the money.

Good luck with the rest! ;)

LOL! I always felt the same way with those tests, like they were saying, "Are you sure? Are you POSITIVE? Are you REALLY POSITIVE?" with a click for each. Hee hee!

Congrats on your grade!! :) A lot of people underestimate that first test and don't do quite as well. :D
