If BON accepted my ADN but not my BSN?

Nursing Students Online Learning

I earned my ADN at a community college in my home state and had no trouble with taking NCLEX and licensing in my current state (not my home state). My ADN program is accredited by the NLN, and I have also heard that my home state BON has some of the strictest requirements as far as nursing programs go. So, I'm not too worried about my ADN and my RN status being accepted by the BON for whatever state(s) I may end up in (military wife). My concern is, if I complete an online BSN program that happens to not be accepted by the BON in a certain state, can I still practice as an RN if that state will recognize my ADN? Sorry if this is a confusing question.

You have no problems at all, you are already a licensed RN. The issue is with those that have completed RN programs, that were never licensed as an RN before. Usually they were LPNs and did a bridge program that was not acceptable. That is what you are hearing about. Nothing for you to worry about at all.

This might be a dumb question but what say does a BON have on a licensed ADN RN who gets there BSN. They can't take away your license so what difference does it make?

Exactly, the BSN is useful for management in this case, but is not needed for licensure. There is not another nursing exam to take.:)

I just wanted to say welcome to the world of MANY nursing licenses. Gotta love PCSing. My hubby is military and I have way too many licenses :chuckle
