I passed the CPNE at SRMC in Atlanta!!! Woohoo!!! A couple more general eds and I'm done!!! To all of those here who haven't done this exam yet, lemme tell you- it was more stressful than I had anticipated, but very doable. You have to study that study guide front to back, have some menmonics for the critical elements, do everything THEIR WAY, and do those grids! You cannot prepare for this too much. And you can't let the stress get to you. I am so glad it's over, but I'm really proud to have accomplished this on the first try, too.

Ladybug was one of the other passers, too! I was really glad she was there- we had a really good time in the midst of it all. Whew! I'm glad that's over with!!!

Congratulations!!!!! How many more gen eds do you have? Would you recommend that site? I hope to test this fall. Did you do one of the workshops to prepare?

Thanks to all of you! I am so glad it's over- whew!!!

MobileLPN- I have Pathophys and Ethics to do before I'm done. I started on the pathophys, and was almost done with it- then I got my CPNE date with 3 months to study for it, so I stopped on the pathophys. I'll be taking it in a couple weeks, so I can review it again. I highly recommend this testing site! The CA was very motherly and supportive, and the CEs were very professional and supportive as well (they were very validating after each PCS was over, and stayed out of my way while I was performing). I can't say a bad thing about this site. Email me when you're about to do your CPNE, and I'll send you my study stuff- it'll help a lot with organization, etc. which is key to getting this done the right way.

I didn't do any of the workshops, BUT I have 8 years LPN experience...mostly in a teaching hospital, with the support of some really good RNs. I didn't need help on most nursing procedures- just the ones that are specifically RN oriented (IV pushes, Care Planning, etc.).

Medic,

You can take the CPNE when you're within 9 credit hrs of finishing your gen eds, and when all the NCs are done. You might be able to take it sooner than you think. Keep taking the courses if you don't get a date within 3 months of your CPNE letter- but if you only have 3 months or less to wait, concentrate on the CPNE only. The study guide is huge, and it covers a lot of material.

Good luck to all of you who are preparing for this- it is doable! And thanks to all for the congrats! I am still feeling so good about passing! :)
