My union offers tuition reimbursement, in order for me to be reimbursed, I need to send them supporting documents about Excelsiors program....which includes:

Letter of acceptance from EC indicating, length of program and expected date of completion.

Will EC send me a letter indicating the above?

You'll get a letter of acceptance, but the length of the program varies by student -- I think including your Academic Evaluation Summary (found under "status report and evaluation summary" on the EC website) would be good -- it shows all the classes you're required to take to complete the program. I think expected date of completion is something you'd have to supply yourself -- the only end date EC will give is your enrollment expiration, which is on your Status Report. Maybe you could include a study plan that maps out how you expect to progress by exam ... that might work! Don't forget to factor in the wait time for the CPNE.

That is great that reimbursement is an option for you! :)

Thanks a bunch--- hope that'll work. Lunah, I paid over 13,000 for LPN with loans, tolls (out of state school) gas, and all the other things that goes along with being in school. I really need this reimbursement, especially since Financial Aid is not an option here.

Oh, one more thing Lunah, is it too late to apply for a scholoarship with EC, I missed the January 15th deadline, but can I still apply for October? I'll be still enrolled at that time.

I think you'll have to wait until they post their 2008-2009 scholarship to see the dates, but you could contact EC and ask -- they might already know when the next round of scholarship applications will be accepted, but just haven't published the information yet.

I was lucky -- when I went to paramedic school, I was working at my old job (graphic design/desktop publishing/managing a publications dept.) and making great money -- way more than I make now as an ED Tech, ha ha. In any case, I was able to totally finance my education without loans, for which I am sooooo thankful! I nearly killed myself going to school and working way more than full-time, but what's done is done. :)
