Excelsior students...how did you fill the speech requirement?

Speech or a 100 level communications course is required for ISU. Just curious if it's required for the Excelsior BSN as well and how you fulfilled it. I'm in a bit of a pickle. I took the speech test today and I think I was a few seconds shy of the 3 min minimum. Hard to tell since I had to use a wall clock. If indeed I was short then it's an automatic failure and you can't retake Dantes test for 6 mo (plus I won't even know for 6-8 weeks). My deadline is November 1. I think I'm SCREWED!!! :uhoh3: So I was looking at CLEP and at Excelsior trying to find some way I can take a 100 level communications test ASAP. Anyone got suggestions???

Was the test hard?

I am studying for that right now! Also doing Algebra which is really hard for me.

The test itself was easy but they say if the speech component is at all less than 3 min or more than 5 then you fail. Hopefully Dantes isn't as strict as they say. I talked to Marcia since I posted this thread. She's the distance education coordinator for the program at ISU. She said not to worry about it and that if it does come back as a failure then there are options. I have to wait 6-8 weeks to get the results from Dantes. ARGH!! But anyway, if ISU says don't worry then I'm not worrying. lol!

Good news is that I've got everything ready to go in my portfolio and it's going in the mail today. :monkeydance::balloons:
