Creepy, that mug shot sends chills up my spine!

I don't know about you all, but I always err on the side of studying instead of making terrorist threats, but maybe that's just my preference! haha

thanks for telling us based on your personal experience at the college. this type of situation is one of the reasons our instructors lock the doors to the classroom right when class starts. to keep us safe.

oh lord...when i was working on my ba in criminology, we (yes plural) students would often make off the cuff comments about killing people.... no one took anything i said or any other student seriously.....and we're still all alive and well. now if this guy has a past of mental illness, maybe a closer look is prudent. otherwise, i'd say he's jesting and blowing off steam.
i've had the misfortune of knowing this guy. he is a master manipulator. when he talks it's either self promotion or remarks made to intimidate. stand back if he doesn't "get his way". his traits can be found on multiple symptoms lists for various psych disorders: antisocial; narcissistic; paranoid; histrionic. the dictionary should have his mug shot next to its definition of a sociopath. this site's http://www.mcafee.cc/bin/sb.html description; right on the money.

I'd like to thank you also for the book suggestion. This has actually been a personal standard of mine for quite a while. I have not read the book - hadn't heard of it until you recommended it, but I've learned through life (sometimes the hard way) to listen to "that little voice". With me, sometimes it's not even a voice. It's just a vague, uneasy feeling, a feeling that something is just not quite right about this or that. No logical or quantifiable reason to justify it, so it's easy to just blow it all off as silly, but over the years I've learned to pay attention to that feeling. But I plan on reading the book anyway...... again, thanks :spin:

The advice to be alert and pay attention to your surroundings is good advice. When I go into a room one of the first things I check is where the exits are and where the windows are, how the desks and chairs are arranged, etc. This is important even in day to day safety, like if there was a fire, or some sort of evacuation, not just what if a crazed gun waver entered.......

I am a guy BTW - this isn't just an 18-19 y.o. female concern. A bullet is no respector of age or gender. You will be just as dead if you are in someone's crosshairs.
Another book you might like is Blink by Gladwell. It sounds like it is along the same lines as you were talking, a gut feeling that you can't exactly place but makes you leary of somthing. It is a fantastic book and one that really changed how I looked at everything.

they do that where i'm attending school also. nobody gets into the classroom until the instructor arrives and he/she has the code to get in. when we are all in the outer doors are locked. it also encourages everyone to be to class on time lol ..... they actually started doing that a while back because of theft and vandalism in unlocked classrooms...

I am currently a couple of quarters a head of this guy...At Galen College of Nursing in Louisville Ky...A good friend of mine was in the class when it happened...It was an odd story...The guy came into the class room...and asked for a certain woman who was not there because she failed the previous class...Then the guy looked at everyone and stated that well that is just one less person I have to kill...Then he started talking about how he had a taser...And that he was going to take them all out...And he refused to leave until the police made him...Leave but the funny story is that the school was just going to sweep it under the rug...It was the parents of some of the younger students ( 18 19 y/o ) that actually called the police to put charges on the man...Now The college Hires one rent a cop to cover two entrances...Who also does not get to work till 8ish...and the doors open at 7am...Wow I feel safe...LOL...Now that is the true story you will not hear on the news...
Did you hear anything about someone reporting to the police that someone that could have been this "Wise" guy pulling into the parking lot in a black pickup truck (knows they'd be looking for his black Ford Focus), honking the horn and waving at smokers outside?

I hope this kook gets weeded out before he makes it into nursing. There are psychos out there, and some of them can even pass the NCLEX. Better to have the nutcases thinned out as soon as possible.
