Nursing association calls for protests in labor board decision

  1. In a major blow to the California Nurses Association -- and other unions that represent registered nurses across the nation -- the National Labor Relations Board has ruled that hospital nurses who direct colleagues are supervisors and ineligible to join unions.

    The decision, made Sept. 29 in a 3-2 vote and announced Tuesday, could affect up to a third of the 2.4 million unionized nurses in the U.S. It comes in the case of Oakwood Healthcare Inc., which involved efforts by a Michigan hospital to block registered nurses from union representation.

    I will keep on saying this. It is time for nurses to bond together, and change this do nothing Congress and this administation. Everybody wants to determine our lives. It should be up to nurses if they want to join a union or not. Get out and VOTE!!

    That's true, but since this thread specifically addressess a nurses' union response, and since this is a nursing BB...

    Just because other workers affected weren't mentioned doesn't mean no one cares. Just trying to stay on point.
