Mar. 15 -California nurses and teachers are taking their fight with Governor Schwarzenegger over his reform plans to the streets. They protested last night in Sacramento at a fundraiser for Mr. Schwarzenegger.
Teachers claim the governor broke his promise on school funding. The Nurses Association is battling with him over nurse-to-patient ratios. The unions say the governor is out to get them.
He says they're playing politics.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, (R) California: "This is all a diversion, saying I'm taking away the life support system of old ladies, and taking away death benefits for firefighter. This is the thing that the special interest and unions are saying. It's a campaign tactic." The governor made those comments at Stanford on Monday at a taping of the MSNBC program, Hardball with Chris Matthews.
