Nurses among invasion army, too

  1. Allied forces launching the D-Day invasion sustained thousands of casualties while gaining a foothold on the sands of Omaha Beach.

    As the American and English armies pushed inland against the Nazis, casualties mounted--both from injuries and illness. It fell to nurses such as Indiana's Dorothy Hogan to mend the wounds and lift the spirits of those servicemen.
